Ranch Elderberry Plants for Sale – Compact, Early-Ripening Variety

We offer rooted Ranch elderberry plants grown in Missouri through our licensed nursery partnership with Blue Fox Farm (Ashland, MO). These plants are well adapted to Midwest growing conditions. Ranch is known for its more compact growth habit and earlier ripening window, making it an excellent choice for smaller plantings, tighter row spacing, and growers seeking an earlier harvest.

Shipping Window: May 2026

Plants ship beginning in May to allow strong spring growth and improve transplant success.
Need plants sooner? Send us a message and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Why Choose Ranch?

• Earlier ripening than many traditional cultivars
• Slightly more compact growth habit
• Productive and dependable
• Well suited for smaller-scale plantings
• Cold hardy to Zone 4

Ranch typically matures slightly earlier than Adams and Wyldewood, helping stagger harvest timing when planted in mixed blocks.

Ideal For:

• Backyard growers
• Tighter orchard spacing
• Early harvest timing
• Hedgerows in smaller properties
• Growers wanting staggered ripening windows

Pollination Partners

Plant 2–3 cultivars within 50–60 feet for best fruit set. Strong pairings with Ranch:

Adams
Bob Gordon
Pocahontas

Mixed plantings improve cluster fill and yield stability.

Spacing & Establishment

• 4–6 feet within rows
• 10–12 feet between rows
• Full sun preferred
• Consistent water during first season

Because Ranch remains somewhat more compact than larger cultivars, it works well in tighter planting systems.
